Manisha Koirala (born on August 16, 1970 in Kathmandu, Nepal), is a prominent Bollywood actress, UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador and social activist. She is also an accomplished Bharatnatyam and Manipuri dancer.

Making her acting debut in the Nepali movie Pheri Bhetaula (1989), Koirala made her acting debut in Bollywood with Subhash Ghai's top grossing drama Saudagar (1991). She went on to collaborate with some of the most prominent film directors of her times, and throughout the 1990s, was one of the popular actresses in India, mostly credited for her critically acclaimed performances.

Manisha Koirala was born into the politically prominent Koirala family; Her grandfather Bishweshwar Prasad Koirala was the Prime Minister of Nepal during the late 50s-early 60s, as well as two of her great uncles, Girija Prasad Koirala and MP Koirala. She studied at Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi and Vasant Kanya Mahavidhyalaya (VKM) Varanasi. She lived with her grandmother in Varanasi during her studies. Her ambition was to be a doctor, but a modelling stint opened a career path into Bollywood.

Social Work

In September 1999, Koirala was appointed as a UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador. She is actively involved in social work, specifically working with organizations to promote women’s rights, prevention of violence against women, and also to prevent the human trafficking of Nepali girls for prostitution.

Malaika Arora Khan (born 23 October 1973) is a model, Indian VJ and a Bollywood actress.

Malaika was born to a Malayali mother, Joyce Polycarp and a Punjabi father, Anil Arora. Her father worked in the merchant navy.

Malaika completed her tenth grade from Swami Vivekanand School in Chembur (Mumbai). Her Aunt Grace Polycarp was the principal of that school. She is also an alumnus of the Holy Cross High School Thane where she had studied until ninth grade. Malaika lived in Borla Society, opposite Basant Talkies before her modelling career.

When MTV India began its operations in India, Malaika was one of their VJs. She rose to an interviewer for MTV India, becoming the most prominent and non-movie, non-model female in urban India.

MTV India, recognizing her potential gave her plum roles co-anchoring with Cyrus Broacha the popular program Love Line and Style Check, at Award Functions and concert telecast on the television channel. she then entered the modeling world. Her modeling and TV careers are equally good.

She is married to the Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan whom she met during a coffee ad shoot. They have a son, Arhaan. Her sister is actor Amrita Arora, and her brothers-in-law are actors, Salman Khan and Sohail Khan.

Mahima Chaudhury (real name Ritu Chaudhury, born 13 September 1973 in Delhi India is an Indian actress and former model. She made her film debut in the 1997 film Pardes.

Mahima Chaudhry was a model before she became an actress. Her first breakthrough performance where she won rave reviews was Pardes (1997) as Ganga, the love interest of two men, Shahrukh Khan and Apoorva Agnihotri. She won rave review for her first performance in Pardes (1997) as a village girl who still values her cultures. Unlike most top actresses in India, she didn't mind playing second fiddle in films (example: Dhadkan (2000), Dil Kya Kare (1999)). Apart from her role in Pardes (1997), she also won acclaims on her role as Kavita, the loving wife of Ajay Devgan in Dil Kya Kare (1999). She was nominated in Filmfare Awards for that role. She was also nominated for her performances in Dhadkan and Dobara

She married Bobby Mukherjee, a high profile Mumbai Architect, last year amidst total secrecy. On June 10, 2007 Mahima gave birth to their first child: a girl, called Aryana. Bobby already has two children from a previous marriage.

Madhuri Dixit (born Madhuri Shankar Dixit on May 15, 1967) is an award-winning Indian Bollywood actress. Throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, she dominated Hindi cinema as a leading actress and an accomplished dancer. Madhuri Dixit is a native of Mumbai, India. She was born Madhuri Shankar Dixit to Shankar and Snehlata Dixit, of a Marathi Chitpavan Brahmin family. Dixit attended Parle College and wanted to be a micro-biologist. She is trained as a Kathak dancer, in the Indian classical tradition.

In 1999, she married Sriram Madhav Nene, an Indian doctor who resides in USA. A UCLA-trained cardiovascular surgeon who practices in Denver, Nene is also from a Marathi Konkanastha Brahmin family. She has two sons, Arin (born in March 2003 in Colorado) and Ryan (born on March 8, 2005 in Colorado).

She has two elder sisters, Rupa and Bharati, and an elder brother, Ajit. Madhuri and her family resides in Denver, Colorado, USA.

Madhuri Dixit has been the muse for the famous Indian painter M.F. Hussain who considers her the epitome of womanhood. Hence he made a film named Gaja Gamini (2000) in which Madhuri acted. The film was intended as a tribute to Ms. Dixit herself. In this film she can be seen portraying various forms and manifestations of womanhood including the muse of Kalidasa, Da Vinci's Mona Lisa, a rebel and a musical euphoria etc.

On December 7, 2006, Dixit returned to Mumbai along with her husband and sons to start filming for Aaja Nachle (2007). The film released in November 2007 and despite the critics panning it, Dixit's performance was well received, with the New York Times commenting about her that "she's still got it".

On Women's International Day in 2007, Dixit topped Rediff's list of the Best Bollywood Actresses Ever.

During the summer of 2008, Madhuri Dixit will be appearing as a guest on the Unforgettable Tour. She is expected to perform on some of her legendary chartbusters over the years.

Dutta won the annual Gladsrags modelling competition in her native India, thus winning the right to be the first Indian representative at the 1997 Miss Intercontinental pageant, in which she took first place. Later, she was crowned Femina Miss India Universe and Miss Universe in 2000.

Dutta primarily signed up to do the Tamil film, Arasatchi in 2002, but due to financial problems, it only released in mid-2004. She made her Hindi debut in 2003 with the film Andaaz which was a box office success and won her a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award. She then appeared in a number of films, some of which failed at the box office and some of which were mildly successful. Her box office "hits" include Masti (2004), Kaal (2005),No Entry (2005) and Partner (2007).

In 2006, she starred in the comedy, Bhagam Bhag which did well at the box office.

Dutta's first release of 2007 was Shaad Ali's Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. The film was a box office failure in India but did better overseas, especially in the U.K. She received mixed reviews for her performance in the film. Her latest release, Partner opened to a good response and became a hit.

Born in Hong Kong, One of eight siblings, Kaif was born to an Indian Kashmiri Father and British mother, was brought up in Hawaii, and started modelling at the age of 14, when she was approached for a jewellery campaign. After that she continued modeling in London.

Karisma does not like to talk about her personal life but she has been romantically involved with Ajay Devgan and Abhishek Bachchan. She announced her engagement to Bachchan in October of 2002 on the 60th birthday of Abhishek's father, Amitabh Bachchan. Four months later in February 2003, they split up.

On 29 September 2003, she married industrialist Sanjay Kapur, CEO of Sixt India. In typical Kapoor tradition, Karisma was married at her grandfather, the late Raj Kapoor's home, R K Cottage. The couple opted for an hour-long Sikh ceremony.[10] The couple has one daughter named Samaira, who was born on 11 March 2005. After the birth of her daughter, there was considerable rift between her and her husband. The couple has subsequently patched-up.

Khan is trained in opera and plays the piano. She can dance salsa, lambada, samba and Kathak.

Khan completed her A levels in film studies and literature in London. She also studied at the Lee Strasberg Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, though she quit upon receiving a movie offer from Mumbai.

A sixteen years old Khan was to debut in Mukesh Bhatt's Tumsa Nahin Dekha (2004), but backed out when she felt the role was too mature for her and immediately replaced by Dia Mirza. Two years later in 2006, she debuted in the controversial Nishabd, where she acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan. The film was released on March 2, 2007 to mixed reviews, though Khan was noted for her confidence, attitude, and sex appeal.

She will appear in A.R. Murugadoss's Ghajini Hindi remake along with Aamir Khan and Asin Thottumkal and Sajid Khan's Housefull, which also stars Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone and Ritesh Deshmukh.

Dia Mirza or Diya Mirza , nicknamed Dee, (born 9 December 1981 is an Indian model and Bollywood Actress and Miss Asia Pacific for the year 2000. She was also second runner up in the Miss India 2000 beauty contest.

Deepika Padukone was born to Ujjala and Prakash Padukone on January 5, 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Her family moved to Bangalore when she was only eleven months old. Her father Prakash Padukone is a badminton player of international repute, while her mother is a travel agent. Padukone also has a younger sister named Anisha and is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer.

Padukone attended Sophia High School in Bangalore. She completed her studies from Mount Carmel College. While in high school she played badminton at the state level like her father and was a member of her father's badminton club. While pursuing her studies in college, she decided to pursue a career in modeling due to her tall and slender figure. She later made a successful Bollywood debut in 2007 with Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om opposite Shahrukh Khan. The film went on to become the biggest hit of the year, both in India and abroad. The film featured her portraying Shantipriya - a 1970s superstar, and later as Sandy - a young woman who looks exactly like Shantipriya. Her performance was well received, earning the actress a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award as well as her first Filmfare Best Actress nomination. Taran Adarsh from indiaFM noted, "Deepika has all it takes to be a top star -- the personality, the looks and yes, she's supremely talented too. Deepal Shaw (born 21 February 1986), more commonly known as Baby Doll, is an Indian actress, model, and singer who currently appears in Bollywood movies.
She was born and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to parents originally from Uttar Pradesh. She studied in D.P.Y.A. High School, Dadar. Her mother was born in Lucknow, while her father was born in Ayodhya. She has a younger brother.
As a child, her parents encouraged her to sing, first giving her lessons when she was only six years old.

Music career

She released her first album (entitled Baby Doll, after her adopted stage name) in 2004. She followed up her strong debut with Baby Doll Chapter 2, featuring many hit remixes such as "Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar" and "Rangeela Re."
Her music consists mainly of modernized remixes of old Hindi songs, entailing a very bass-heavy sound with some hip hop elements. She is currently on Saregama India Records. MTV India has largely been responsible for promoting her music, by playing her sexy and extremely popular music videos.

Film career

Riding the waves of her burgeoning music career, Shaw decided to parlay her success into a career in Bollywood. She signed on to act in Hriday Shetty's Daag - The Shades of Love. However, the project was shelved shortly thereafter.[3]

She made her acting debut in Mahesh Bhatt's controversial Kalyug, opposite Emraan Hashmi and fellow-newcomer Kunal Khemu. Portraying a porn star, Shaw's first role was generally appreciated by critics.

In December 2005, she finished filming on her second venture, Karma, Confessions and Holi, directed by Manish Gupta. The international, English-language film also stars Sushmita Sen, Randeep Hooda, and Naomi Campbell, and is set for release in October 2006.

She is currently working on Tumse, co-starring Irrfan Khan.
